Project Background
Designing the interior for this office is not just about shaping a workplace, it is about shaping an environment that symbolizes joy itself. This is because this office has long stood as a cultural symbol of happiness, connection, and celebration. The project set out to transform these intangible values into tangible spatial experiences, giving employees a workplace that reflects the essence of the very product they carry to the world. Situated at the Gulshan–Tejgaon Link Road with sweeping views of Hatirjheel, the site itself offered a serene backdrop—an urban horizon where openness and reflection converge. Against this context, the office was imagined as a space where happiness flows like energy, where everyday work becomes an uplifting experience.
Concept
The core concept was framed around transparency, openness, and connectivity. Happiness, though invisible, is interpreted here as light and shared energy, permeating every corner of the office. Just as the joy of gazing at the Eid moon unites people in collective wonder, this design sought to create an atmosphere of belonging and shared delight.
Fluidity became the spatial language. Curved ceilings, dynamic louvers, and flowing circulation paths dissolve rigidity and bring movement into space, echoing the rhythm of life itself. These curves are not ornamental, they are symbolic of the office’s itself identity: free-flowing, inclusive, and endlessly dynamic.
Design Implementation
The layout embraces north–south openness, capturing the calm expanse of Hatirjheel. Natural light is treated as a material of design—flooding workstations, bouncing off glass partitions, and filtering gently through ceiling panels that are shaped to guide illumination. The ceiling becomes an expressive element: layered, curved, and luminous, it frames the entire office in a sense of motion and energy.
Workplace experience forms a fundamental part of office design. The zoning is clearly divided into socializing, co-working, and focus spaces—reflecting the natural rhythm of how people work and interact. As individuals spend the majority of their day in the workplace,
social spaces are designed to nurture wellbeing and human connection; co-working areas encourage collaboration and shared growth, while focused zones allow for concentration and deep work.
Workstations are organized like honeycomb clusters, a deliberate arrangement that balances community and individuality. While each department retains its identity, the overall geometry fosters connection—ensuring that collaboration feels organic rather than forced. Transparency in glass partitions amplifies this effect, keeping sightlines open and effortless communication.
Special functional zones expand the spectrum of the workplace beyond productivity. A town hall space hosts collective activities and gatherings; a prayer room offers serenity and reflection; a breastfeeding space provides dignity and care; and a gaming zone adds playfulness and release socializing space. Together, these areas reflect the belief that a true workplace supports the whole human experience, not just the professional one.
Greenery is integrated strategically to soften the industrial edges of the design. Biophilia plants punctuate seating areas and breakout corners, reinforcing the connection between wellbeing and the natural environment. The result is a hybrid interior—where industrial clarity meets organic softness, embodying the balance of energy and calm.
Materials and Elements
The material and color palette are bold yet harmonious. Office’s anchors the identity of the space, while greens, grays, and blacks create a grounding equilibrium. Textured green-gray carpets and neutral-toned work surfaces provide warmth, ensuring that the space feels vibrant but not overwhelming.
Structural honesty was prioritized. MS frames ensure strength and modular flexibility, while transparent curved glass partitions maintain visual connectivity and openness. The ceiling system, made from MDF panels arranged in fluid waves, doubles as a sculptural light diffuser—casting a soft, animated glow across workstations.
Cost-effectiveness was achieved without compromising design integrity. Elements like customized C-box lights, MDF ceilings, melamine-topped MS tables, and fabric carpets were designed in-house to reduce expenses while maintaining high-quality finishes. Every material decision was made with purpose: to reinforce the narrative of clarity, fluidity, and happiness.
Conclusion
The Office is not merely a workplace; it is a spatial translation of joy. Every curve, every reflection, and every beam of light has been choreographed to foster connection, movement, and delight. The result is an office where work is no longer just a task but an experience—where energy flows seamlessly, collaboration becomes effortless, and happiness is designed into the very fabric of space.
